Global Geoid Altitude Correction (EGM96)

EGM96 data is used to determine the actual ground elevation above MSL when the WGS84 position reported by GPS is available. This usually eliminates the need to manually enter an altitude offset.

Upload to DHV-XC and Leonardo Servers

Total Vario now supports direct upload of IGC files to the German DHV-XC server and to Leonardo servers. This feature is available in the recorder settings. Just select the server you want to use from the list.

Thermal Guide Display Box

A new optional display box for thermal flying has been added. Basically it has two modes. One shows the data when you are circling in a thermal, the other shows and points to the last "good" thermal that was saved.

The minimum average climb and altitude gain to classify an updraft as good are configurable. As long as no good thermal is known, the last (weak) thermal after takeoff is used.

When you fly in the direction of the stored (last good) thermal, the guide points to the best entry position and displays the corresponding geometric L/D value.

When circling in a thermal, the base entry altitude, altitude gain and overall climb speed are displayed.

Telephone Bell

Added a setting to set the phone ringtone to silent. This is NOT the "do not disturb" mode, which is not supported in earlier devices/Android versions.

Temperature

The temperature used for atmospheric calculations is now displayed on the left side of the altitude box.

Relative Netto Variometer

The processing of the netto variometer has been revised. It can now be enabled / disabled in the settings. When enabled, the relative net indicator is displayed at the top of the variometer bar.

Parallel IGC Logging

It is now possible to run the IGC logger in parallel with the detailed flight data recorder (FDR).

Live tracking for FFVL and Puretrack

The FFVL live tracking API (useful for FFVL members) and the Puretrack API are now supported.
Also the credentials management for livetracking has been redesigned.
